Moosie’s story with us began with a trip to the Thai restaurant and the question, “Did you see that dog?!” The answer to the question was no, so we turned around to get a better look. He’s such a cutie. Being dog lovers we parked so we could go meet and pet this man’s dog. We followed them into a store and when we opened the front door, it was a full on dog adoption. Moosie laid down and told us we could rub his belly. We think he is part Bassett Hound and American Staffordshire. He’s such a sweet boy and he reminds us of a cartoon dog. Over a few weeks we went from wondering if he got adopted, to introducing him to all three of our other dogs because we couldn’t stop thinking about him, and eventually bringing him home to live with us. No one seemed to object and he has been a really great addition to our pack. We learned that he is five and was rescued from a shelter by Black Dog Club. His rescue mom went to the shelter to pick up another dog, but just couldn’t leave him there after seeing that face. We learned that he was well taken care of because of some surgery he had that our vet noted in one of his exams. We like to think that he had a really good home but ended up in the shelter when his owner passed away. He needed a good home so we wanted to make a place for him. He gets along really well with our other dogs and he loves everyone so much. He’s really sweet but he also likes to play a ton. He is a medium size dog but he doesn’t know how big he is and is very much a “tank”. We tell him not to be Tankie when he gets wild and can’t contain his excitement. We love him so much and can’t imagine not having him in our lives!
This is the story of how a trip to the Thai restaurant resulted in us becoming a four dog household.
